The Automotive OEM aimed to slash vehicle unit costs, prompting a critical need for real-time insights into part costs and inventory availability among R&D engineers.

To address this challenge, we developed two Microservices applications that seamlessly integrate with the newly designed CAD application add-on.

The first Microservice taps into the ERP database to gather precise part costs, which are then relayed to the add-on. Here, these costs are intelligently incorporated into the bill of materials within the 3D model, empowering engineers with invaluable cost data during the design phase.

Simultaneously, the second Microservice retrieves live inventory data, enabling the add-on to suggest alternative parts readily available in stock. This functionality equips engineers with viable options for reusing existing inventory, fostering cost-effective design decisions.
